This lack of adaptation boosted sales for ecommerce leaders like Amazon who promote online sales and shipping exceptionally well.

Many are saying “but wait Toys-R-Us had shipping”. That’s right they did, like most companies do. However, companies like Amazon have done something that others have not… Simplified the online shopping experience.

Not only is it easier to buy on Amazon, it’s more convenient. Let’s have a quick look at some reasons why people prefer Amazon.

  2. Easy to compare brands
  3. Can connect external coupons such as Honey
  4. Easy returns
  5. Convenience of buying anywhere and anytime

Long are the days where majority preferred look for a store, drive, walk around, find, think, sit on their phone to compare to other brands, buy, and drive back home.

Today, people can have a better shopping experience from the comfort of their couch. In many cases from the comfort of their bed, at night.

So let’s get this straight. When we say don’t compete against Amazon, we mean don’t compete with a brick and mortar store and an outdated website. If you don’t want to lose business to Amazon, you need to have a website that creates a simple shopping experience online… just like your brick and mortar store. Because that’s what people want.
